my all time favorite portrait
To this day, this picture is still my favorite portrait. Even though it was taken 2.5 years ago. It is the day my second daughter was born. The day my family became complete.
I remember this day like it was yesterday. How I was so exhausted (she was born at 1 am), but could not sleep because I had that new mom high. I was so overcome with joy and love.
On this day my room was filled with visitors coming to meet my new daughter, not to mention a full house when big sister came to meet her. Needless to say, their first meeting was overwhelming and hectic. So when my husband came later alone with just her, it was our first time alone as a family of four. A moment I realized how full my heart was. A day I would go back to in a heartbeat. My only regret is that I did not hire someone else to take this picture so I could be in it as well.
“My only regret is that I did not hire someone else to take this picture so I could be in it as well.”
Every time I look at this picture, my eyes fill with tears. I am transported back to this moment that means everything to me. A moment I am able to relive over and over again with this picture. A moment that my heart was bursting with love. To think, I almost did not get up to take this picture because I was tired and in pain. I am so grateful and thankful I did!
One of the reasons I love lifestyle is because I can take photos like these for my clients. A time in their lives that they can treasure with a photograph. A moment they can relive over and over again.
I want to capture that picture for you. The one that makes you laugh, the one that makes you cry, the one that transports you back to a moment you can relive over and over again.
