Getting in the Frame

I am on a photography forum called Clickin’ Moms and one of the main topics of conversations is how everyone has so little pictures of themselves with their kid/s. Now at least once a week a new thread of mom’s getting in the frame with their kids.  In fact, they started a group with the goal of posting pictures monthly of mom getting in the frame.

When this trend started, I look back at pictures from my childhood.  I noticed there are very few of my mom and I.  Maybe a handful.  I would say 90% of the pictures are of us kids.  So when I had my daughter back in August, I promised myself that I would not let that be me.  It also got me thinking, what is the one thing most of my clients request for there photo session?  Without a doubt one with mom and kids and on with dad and kids.  You can look at my past sessions and see mom and dad in separate photos with their kids.

I would love to offer this as a session option to my clients.  If you are a mom interested in having your picture taken with your little one monthly or yearly, please contact me for more details.  I would love to help you have more pictures of you with your child/children.

I promised myself that was not going to be me.  I am not going to care if I think I look fat or if I have make up on.  It is more important for me to make memories with my daughter.  So starting in January I joined the group, got out my DSLR, remote, and tripod and started taking pictures.  I am so glad I did.  Here is my share for February.

I love these. I never have any photos with my daughter so this definitely motivates me to start. Beautiful colors in these as well!
